Cruise Control: Buying the right stroller

Buggy's Mamas Papas Sola Stroller
I will begin with the features I like and then to the things that don't quite work for me. So, what I appreciate most about Buggy's stroller is it's overall durability, sturdy tires and smooth steering. This makes it great for NYC winters or even the nicest spring day as it easily rolls over uneven pavement. I appreciate the forward facing seat option. I like that the seat is high off the ground and I love the adjustable height handle. The storage basket is a nice size and the rain cover is included. This may seem like a small deal but many strollers do not include that basic accessory.

Now onto the things that aren't so great. The canopy and harness can be improved. The canopy is great for the upright position but when Buggy is fully reclined the coverage isn't adequate. I also find securing the harness to be difficult.  Although I love the forward facing seat option I don't like having to remove the seat to accomplish this. The stroller is somewhat heavy and bulky for city travel, cabs, subway, or bus. I wish it had a compact fold. To be fair mamas and papas does offer sleeker strollers however as a first time mom I chose the sola before knowing what features were right for me.

To remedy my issue of portability I'm considering the Upper Vista G-Luxe for short trips and travel and the Sola for inclement weather because of it's durable frame and sturdy tires.

So before purchasing your stroller here are some things to consider:

What is standard: Some strollers appear to be a good deal until you realize that everything you need, sun shade, seat cover, rain cover are sold separately. So be mindful of this when considering your budget.

Adequate shade coverage

Multiple recline options

Easy to snap safety harness

Sturdy wheels and a smooth swivel
